Q What makes you still keep interest on Rangoli as many women lose interest on it?
A I feel happy, delighted, enlighten, achieved something, mentally free when I complete each rangoli. That’s the only thing that keeps me doing. Almost every day I draw rangoli on the paper. I do rangoli in front of my home on all the occasions. I have shared some of my Rangoli works in this website. I used only color pensils and it gives retro effect. I am a vintage woman.

Q Have you received any reward & appreciation?
A Reward / award No. But I have got lot of appreciation from everyone which is more than a award I consider. Thanks to all my well-wisher.
...........................................................................................................................
Q Is there any challenging moment that you would like to share?
A Yes, I had and would like to share with the readers. A neighborhood gal knocked my door on the bitterly cold night some years ago. She asked me to draw some Rangoli on the paper as she had some Rangoli completion at her school next day. Though I had experience in Rangoli I was unable to think thematically at the instant. Somewhat I got anidea what to draw. Yes, I depicted a gal’s picture that holds a mask of an angry face thus a smiley face visible. I was happy when I came to know that that Rangoli won first prize.

A I am Sainarayana, you can call me Sai shortly. I am interested in many areas from electronics to astrophysics. One of my hobbies is Rangoli.

Q How was your first Rangoli experience?
A well, when I look back about 10 years and its still bore in my heart. That was Chitirai month, Lord Renganatha statue comes around the street. The people of Srirangam were cleaning and drawing Rangoli in front of their homes. Unfortunately my parents were out of station. Lord Renganatha was nearing my home and I decided to draw Rangoli in front of my home. I was bit nervous. With heavy tension and pressure I had done something and it was appreciated by everyone. And I realized I too could make rangoli. That was my first Rangoli.
...........................................................................................................................
Q why do you like Rangoli?
A Apart from auspicious and traditional reasons I like this art to relax and comfort myself. Also I would like children involve in this activity. By seeing rich colors and making complicated designs improve children brain sharper and makes room for doing other activities, I believe.
